Snacking can work in your favor if weight loss is your objective. But not every snack is created equal.  

Snacks that are well-balanced can give you the nutrients you need, suppress your appetite  

prevent overindulging during your next meal.  

According to a 2019 review that was published in the International Journal of Food Sciences and Nutrition  

spreading out your calories throughout the day by eating one or two snacks in addition to your larger meals   

may actually be better for your digestion and metabolism.  

The review also notes that higher-weight people who routinely eat snacks consume more fruits,  

vegetables, and fiber than people who don't.  

People frequently believe that because nuts contain fat, they are indulgent.
