Apple doughnuts bring back memories of South Dakota family vacations. Before setting up camp in the Badlands,  

we would make a dozen or more stops at Wall Drug. My favorite glaze was and still is maple.   

Give some of these to loved ones who would enjoy a warm, freshly made apple cider doughnut.   

Although apple cider donuts can be baked, frying will significantly enhance their flavor and texture. Use a doughnut pan to help them keep their form if you wish to bake them.  


Apple doughnuts remind me of family trips to South Dakota.  


– Oil for deep-fat frying

If desired, dip doughnuts into glaze or sugar of your choice. 

enlist the help of a doughnut pan to help retain their shape. Bake at 350° for about 15-18 minutes. Or try a no-fry doughnut recipe!
