Concerned about "the truth" behind Kate Middleton's health crisis, Princess Diana's brother

Charles Spencer, Princess Diana's brother, addressed Kate Middleton's location after her “planned abdominal surgery.”

“I do worry about what happened to the truth,” Spencer, 59, told BBC's Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg.

Since her January hiatus from royal duties, Middleton, Spencer's nephew Prince William's bride, has been the target of online gossip.

After posting a “altered” photo of herself and her three children with Prince William—Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5—on March 10, suspicions concerning her health soared.

Middleton eventually acknowledged to doctoring the image, and while Kensington Palace indicated following her operation that the princess will not make public appearances until “after Easter,” the public is growing more anxious.

Late night broadcaster John Oliver quipped that Middleton may have “died” and the palace is covering it up.

In his interview, Spencer linked the “online kind of conspiracy” to the “press intrusion” surrounding his sister Diana's death.

King Charles III's ex-wife, 36, died in a Paris vehicle crash in August 1997 after paparazzi chased her into a tunnel.
