D'Angelo Russell ties LA's 3-point mark as Lakers beat Atlanta.

Los Angeles— In truth, the Atlanta Hawks were everything the Lakers needed.

After losing to Golden State two days earlier, the Lakers were 10th in the Western Conference

far from where they or anyone expected them to be with four weeks left in the season.

In Monday's 136-105 Lakers win at Crypto.com Arena, the Hawks were easy. Anthony Davis

returned from an eye ailment, and D'Angelo Russell tied a record with his shooting.

Russell tied Nick Van Exel with 27 points and six three-pointers in a season. In 1994-95, Van Exel had 183, a record until Monday.

“That’s another beautiful feeling, knowing what this organization means to me,” Russell told Spectrum SportsNet.

Russell also has the Brooklyn Nets' season three-point record. His only All-Star season was 2018-19, when he drilled 234.
