Fast turnaround for next Starship flight from SpaceX

SpaceX aims to launch its Starship vehicle in early May, depending on how quickly it receives a revised launch license.

SpaceX president and COO Gwynne Shotwell said at the Satellite 2024 conference March 19 that the ,

company was still examining data from the vehicle's third integrated flight March 14 but intended to fly again soon.

“We’re still going through the data” from the flight, she added when asked about mission data analysis.

The flight was a huge success. We achieved our goal.”

On launch, the Super Heavy booster and Starship upper stage performed as intended, launching the vehicle into suborbital space.

The starship's payload door was opened in orbit to demonstrate a propellent transfer of liquid oxygen between two tanks.

Starship's Raptor engines were not relighted in space due to a roll, according to the corporation. At 65 kilometers altitude, the craft broke apart during reentry. As it descended to the Gulf of Mexico for a planned landing burn, the Super Heavy rocket exploded.
