Former F1 driver returns to NASCAR for Michael Jordan's 23XI.

Kamui Kobayashi returns to NASCAR. Michael Jordan's 23XI team will run the great Japanese driver as the third car at COTA, after Bubba Wallace and Tyler Reddick.

 

FOX Sports reports that Kobayashi will drive Jordan's No. 50 car in the EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix on March 24. 

 

Kobayashi will make his second NASCAR start since 2023.

 

The 23XI Racing official X account wrote "He's back," mimicking Michael Jordan's "I'm back" fax announcing his NBA return. 

 

 "Kamui Kobayashi returns to 23XI Racing to face COTA with Bubba Wallace and Tyler Reddick in his second #NASCAR Cup Series start. #teamtoyota"

 

Having driven in Formula 1, Formula E, Super GT, and more, Kobayashi won ,

 

the FIA World Endurance Championship twice (2019-20 and 2021) and the 89th 24 Hours of Le Mans. 

 

Despite his accomplishments outside of stock car racing, Kobayashi has said he always wanted to race in NASCAR.
