Former Olympian Caitlyn Jenner supports New York County's transgender female athlete ban

NY-Mineola (AP) On Monday, Olympic gold winner Caitlyn Jenner supported a New York official's 

 prohibition on transgender female sports teams utilizing county facilities.

The prohibition covers nearly 100 Long Island athletic facilities. Jenner told Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman

at his Mineola office that allowing transgender athletes like herself to compete against other women will “ruin women’s sports” for years.

Reality personality who came out as transgender in 2015 remarked, “Let’s stop it now while we can.”

Jenner's words were labeled a "baffling contradiction" to her transgender status and "not only 

 

hypocritical but also harmful" to the LGBTQ community by the LGBT Network on Long Island.

 

“It is disheartening to witness someone who has experienced the challenges of being marginalized actively contribute to the oppression of others within the same community
