Kevin Costner divorce comes amid 'Yellowstone' success, blockbuster second act

The Kevin Costner-led Western will air the second half of its fifth and final season in November before launching an unannounced sequel in December.

"'Yellowstone' has been the cornerstone on which we have launched an entire universe of global hits — from ‘1883’ to ‘Tulsa King,’ and I am confident our ‘Yellowstone’ sequel will be another big hit,

thanks to Taylor Sheridan's brilliant creative mind and our incredible casts who bring these shows to life," said MTV Entertainment Studios president and CEO Chris McCarthy.

The Dutton saga continues, following up where ‘Yellowstone’ leaves off in another epic adventure," said 101 CEO David Glasser. We are excited to share this new experience worldwide."

It is anticipated that Matthew McConaughey will star in this spinoff, but his role has not been announced. No more casting news has been disclosed, although Glasser's statement suggests many recognized people.

Many "Yellowstone" cast members have said for months that they want to work on the program for a long period.

Numerous speculations blame Costner for the filming delay, which will occur about a year later than planned.

After airing the first half of the fifth season late last year, the show took a holiday hiatus. The filming was supposed to resume at the start of the year, but it was delayed until this summer, and now it has been delayed even more.
