Rapid Recap: 2023-24 Mountain West Tournament Championship.  

On Wednesday, No. 6-seeded New Mexico began the Mountain West Tournament squarely on the bubble  

When the final buzzer sounded Saturday afternoon, they became the first team in league history to win four games in four day  

San Diego State 68-61 and clinching their fifth MW Tournament title and first since 2013-14.  

New Mexico also became the first No. 6 seed to win the MW Tournament since Colorado State in 2002-03  

Though the previous bracket, which included only eight teams (11 in 2013-14), lasted only three days.  

The Lobos were paced by talented All-Conference guards Jaelen House and Jamal Mashburn, who together scored 49 of the team's 68 points.   

House led the team with 28 points, shooting 10-of-22 from the field and 3-of-7 from beyond the arc. Mashburn scored 21 points on 6-of-16 shooting and three triples, while JT Toppin finished with 13 points and 11  

San Diego State, in their seventh consecutive Mountain West title game, missed 13 of their final 14 baskets after holding a four-point lead with 7:08 remaining.  

Jaedon LeDee was the team's sole double-digit scorer, with 25 points on 7-for-12 shooting and six rebounds.New Mexico shot 37.5 percent from the field and 30.0  

New Mexico caused 10 SDSU turnovers, resulting in 14 points off turnovers, while its four TOs yielded no further Aztec points.  

With 6:44 remaining in the first half, the Lobos led by nine points thanks to three consecutive House triples.
