Seahawks to sign Pro Football Focus' top-rated linebacker

Tyrel Dodson is heading west after having his greatest season yet in 2023.

According to Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report, the former Bills linebacker has signed with the Seattle Seahawks.

The former UDFA from Texas A&M spent his whole five-year career with the Bills.

Due to a suspension and a practice-squad stint, Dodson was forced to redshirt his rookie season, and he spent much of 2020 and 2021 on special teams.

Following an increase in defensive snaps in 2022, the fifth-year player took off in 2023.

This previous season, Dodson started 10 of his 17 games and played more than half of the Bills' defensive snaps.

He concluded the season with 74 tackles, 2.5 sacks, and a forced fumble. Pro Football Focus praised Dodson's efforts and named him the top linebacker for the 2023 season.

Elite grades for run defence and coverage helped raise the 25-year-old's PFF rating.
