Seavey has the most Iditarod wins, but three sled dog deaths overshadowed Alaska's storied race.

Anchorage (AP)— A legendary dog sled racer returned from behind following a moose attack to win the tough, days-long race for an unprecedented sixth time.

Dallas Seavey's record-setting success late Tuesday was overshadowed by the deaths of three dogs in this year's legendary

Alaska wilderness endurance competition and renewed calls from an animal rights group to ban it.

Seavey's fourth dog was seriously hurt by a moose on the trail.
