Spencer Haywood says LeBron has surpassed MJ: "Jordan did what he did but the players are now bigger, better, faster"

Following the Los Angeles Lakers' 2020 NBA championship victory, NBA icon Spencer Haywood said that LeBron James has surpassed Michael Jordan as the best basketball player of all time.

According to Haywood, the contemporary game is on a different level than when Jordan played. And the competition is much tougher.

Jordan went 6-0 in the NBA Finals, but Haywood believes you can't compare titles due to the competition.

Players now are thought to be more skilled than ever before, and with the addition of Europeans, the NBA's ability level has never been higher.

LeBron only holds four NBA championships. Not only did he have one in which his club rebounded from a 1-3 Finals hole to defeat the finest regular season team in league history

but Haywood also stated that his most recent one occurred in a series played under remarkable circumstances.

"And to win this one in a pandemic, away from your family, putting your life on the line with no one knowing the long-term consequences of COVID

LeBron is the real deal. We saw greatness, something extraordinary. "You can't live in the past," Haywood said.
