Success in the long run and a Stanley Cup is the Rangers' top priority.

The Rangers might have gone all-in at the NHL Trade Deadline.

The Vegas Golden Knights used LTIR cap relief to add forwards Tomas Hertl, Anthony Mantha, and Noah Hanifin.

Vegas traded their 2025 and 2026 first-round picks for those guys. The reigning champions pay a high price, but many challengers don't worry about tomorrow.

In the Rangers' division, the Carolina Hurricanes traded Jake Guentzel and Evgeny Kuznetsov.

In hopes of going all the way this spring, the Canes handed up Michael Bunting, three good prospects, and two draft picks (possibly three if they win the Stanley Cup).

That's the cost of doing business, but in a wage cap era, it might kill your League title chances.

As the Rangers continue their strong season, it's encouraging that general manager Chris Drury didn't rob from the future for one Stanley Cup today.

The Rangers were linked to Guentzel before the March 8 deadline, with reports differing on their interest.
