Trends in Garden Design

The current trends in gardening can be summarised in two words: resilient and inventive.

Plants, as well as gardeners, must be resilient in the face of uncertain climate change (and everything that comes with it!).

For gardeners, resiliency leads directly to creativity, whether it's adopting new notions, thinking outside the box, or adjusting to a new "normal".

Pineapple Sage (Salvia elegans) is a wonderful fall-blooming perennial with scarlet blossoms that lend colour to salads, herbed cheeses, and sauces.

Or simply select a bunch for a pineapple-scented bouquet!Edimentals, a phrase developed by Norwegian writer Stephen Barstow

Edimentals are plants that live for more than a year, such as perennials, shrubs, and trees.

Using edimentals is an excellent way to introduce design aspects like colour, texture, and shape into a traditional vegetable garden.

Of course, some annual edibles are worth mentioning, especially those that merge so well with non-edible plants
