What foods cause weight gain? Watch Out for This One, Say RDs

You've probably heard that eating French fries and fried chicken regularly is unhealthy. You can consume these items in moderation—they taste nice.

You may reduce your fried food intake but still see the scale rise. You may be eating "healthy" foods that cause weight gain

Many of those foods that are marketed as organic, keto, plant-based, gluten-free and other trendy labels may seem like great choices.

Not everything is weight. By recognizing deceptive marketing tactics that make certain foods seem healthy

you may make better dietary choices. And that empowers.

"Acknowledging sneaky foods will allow you to plan around them and incorporate them less consistently when trying to lose or maintain weight

 

 explains Endomondo registered dietitian nutritionist Yelena Wheeler, MPH, RDN

 

"It will also prevent frustration with yourself when you were supposedly consuming healthy foods which turned out to actually be foods that can lead to weight gain."
